Illustrated by splendid photographs carried out for the occasion, this work reports in a first part the historical course of a house more than twice centenary. The second part is devoted to the catalog of the prestigious clock making collection at this meeting in Geneva by Vacheron Constantine. It presents the known parts most significant of manufacture according to a classification honouring the trades with art which contribute to the high clock industry. Biography of the author Writer and historian, Franc Cologni is the author of many works on the history of the clock industry and the jewelry. It in particular published the Object Cartier (Giorgio Mondadori, 1992), Cartier, the jeweller of platinum (Giorgio Mondadori, 1995), Cartier, the watch Tank (Flammarion, 1998), Vacheron Constantine (Assouline, 2000), Piaget (Assouline, 2001), and Piaget Joaillerie (Assouline, 2001). Expert in high clock industry, historian of clock making art, Dominique Flechon is the author of many specialized studies and works of which Orologiaio, Mestiere d' Arte (It Saggiatore, 1999) Balsam and Draper (Assouline, 2002) or Cartier, the Tank watch, in collaboration with Franco Cologni (Flammarion, 1998).
